Please be sure that you download the Newsletter and read it in its entirety. It contains many details that you will need to know for our Spring Concert.

Volunteers Still Needed!
We cannot stress the importance of your volunteer help enough. We are still in need of Make-up, Ushers and Security volunteers for all shows. Also, many classes are still in need of Backstage Mothers. Please submit your volunteer form or e-mail Laura: Laura@paulettesballetstudio.com is you would like to volunteer.

We also ask that all volunteers attend our Volunteer Help Meeting. Instructions, lists and details will be given to volunteers at this time to be sure that everyone feels comfortable and prepared for the concert. This meeting is for ALL volunteers, even if you have helped before.

Ticket Information:

Tickets for ALL performances are currently onsale.

Tickets for the Medfield Concerts will be taken Off-Sale on Saturday, April 28th at 5:00PM. Tickets will be available for CASH sales at the box office during rehearsals and prior to each performance. Exact dates and times for box office sales is forthcoming.

Sacred Space Yoga Teacher Cetification

Paulette’s youngest daughter will be offering a Yoga Teacher Certification course through her school, The Sacred Space Yoga School. Classes will be offered beginning in May and October with locations in Weymouth, Norwell, Hingham, Braintree, Scituate, Newton and Medfield (including at Paulette’s Ballet Studios).

The Sacred Space Yoga School is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School dedicated to providing quality education to yoga practitioners and aspiring teachers. Sacred Space Yoga School provides yogar teacher certification courses using the curriculum manual and format approved by the National Yoga Alliance.

Upon graduation, you will be a Certified Yoga Teacher and will be qualified to become a Registered Yoga Teacher with the National Yoga Alliance. The 7-month certification will begin in May and October, and both morning and evening classes will be offered depending on the location. Five full days of classes covering a broad spectrum of dance skills and relevant
knowledge, including ballet, jazz, modern, tap, contemporary, hip-hop, improv,
choreography, conditioning, stretch, wellness, pilates, yoga, college/career, and more.
Instructors will include Paulette’s Ballet Studio faculty and invited guest teachers.

Tuition:
$350 per week ($650 for both weeks)
Students should bring their own lunch, snack, and beverages.

Evening Skills Classes
Intermediate/Advanced Students ages 13+

Perfect for students wishing to maintain and improve their skills during the summer
months. Classes will offer a variety of styles including jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and
hip-hop. The evening will include warm up, conditioning, stretch, and technique (jumps,
turns, skills), as well as choreography and combination work.

Instructors will include Paulette’s Ballet Studio faculty and invited guest teachers.

6:00-8:00 pm Tuesdays & Thursdays – Newton Studio – July 10/12 thru August 14/16
6:00-8:00 pm Wednesdays – Medfield Studio – July 11 thru August 15

Paulette’s Ballet Studio proudly presents,

Our Fantasy Trip To Outer Space
to be performed at Regis College on May 17, 18, 27 and 28!

The MEDFIELD Concert will take place at Regis College in Weston on Thursday, May 17 at 7PM, and Friday, May 18 at 7PM.

The NEWTON Concert will take place at Regis College in Weston. Act I: Sunday, May 27 at 7PM and Monday, May 28 at 2PM; Act II: Sunday, May 27 at 2PM and Monday, May 28 at 7PM.

We invite all of our new students and parents to attend our New Parents meeting, where Paulette will go over the Concert details step-by-step:

In Newton, this meeting will be on Tuesday, February 7th at 7:00PM
In Medfield, this meeting will be on Wednesday, February 8th at 7:00PM

This month Paulette’s grandson, James Gallagher shares his story with us….

I couldn’t tell you when the first time I went to Paulette’s Ballet Studio was, but I was certainly very young and I don’t think I have much recollection of it. I am Paulette’s grandson. I never went there to dance. I played hockey and lacrosse, I’d go to see my grandmother.

Recently, I went back for the first time in probably ten years. Before I say anything, I’ll warn you that I don’t know enough about dancing to critique any positions. I slouch far too much to judge someone for posture and the last time I touched my toes with straight legs was in 8^th grade.

So, I can’t speak to the dancing, but I can speak to what I saw. When I was inside the room, and class was going on, I’d watch someone, as they tried to leap or twirl. First, they had to wait in line. As they’d wait in line, they would laugh or whisper to their friends, but then they’d have to dance. Instantly, I’d see their face change as they focused. Right in front of my eyes, shedding the piled layers of their day, until the only thing that remained was the dancing. Then they’d finish. Their eyes would change and they’d laugh until it was time to dance again. Each time they’d go, the laugh or talk would come later and leave sooner, until they’d just dance. Then, when they weren’t up, they’d be testing their posture or curling their toes, slowing down a grand movement into each small component until they had it and when they did, they’d move on to the next piece of the whole…READ MORE

Sequins and pointe shoes in the snow!

Sequins and pointe shoes in the snow! I guess that’s Paulette’s idea of ‘winter sports.’ This is Paulette when she was about 20 years old, taken atop the Radio City Music Hall, in between performances (four a day!) with the RCMH Ballet Company.
